Great stay at Volcano Kevin Keldson      Hawaii
Review Submitted February 18, 2012      Date of Stay February 8, 2012 Friends and I rented both units for only one night and would have loved to stay longer. The Mansions were better than advertised and were very visitor friendly. All the little details in the finishing shows the owners wish to provide top notch accommodation for their guests. Everything you need is there, and is of excellent quality as well. Very clean and beautifully maintained as well. The only negative for both couples were the beds, a little hard for our liking, but the units are still a great place to stay, and good value. Rating: 5 out of 5    Owner Response: Delighted to have our first review as we've just opened and that our 'redo' efforts on these little Mansions are successful. A NEW 'cush' HIGH END LUXURY BED is on the way and a gel topper is now on the other- (as we did like the firm bed, but now its soft and firm!!!) We want your 'entire' experience to be well beyond the budget price.

Review Submitted March 2, 2012      Date of Stay February 15, 2012 There are two cottages located down a paved road on the outskirts of Volcano two miles from the Park entrance. We arrived from Kona in the afternoon. We got out of the car and stood outside overwhelmed by the bird calls and forest quiet. Instead of opening the door we sat in the white wicker chairs and let the sun creep up on us, identified ten different bird songs in just a few minutes, let the need 'to have a good vacation' slip away. Inside the cottage showed the quality that only caring owners can display. Everything was well made, tightly maintained, detailed with careful attention. We stayed three nights, hiked the park, even made a run into Hilo and were always glad to return to this sanctuary. W and J, Oregon

3/9-11 We loved our short get away & throughly enjoyed staying at Hune.  A comfortable, warm, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated home.  We also loved the attention to detail, the art work, the local flare & the menehune placed all through the house- "so cute".  Your guest book was so informative & such a big help to us as we planned our day, alot of work on your behalf and much appreciated by us.  Next time we come visit we'll rent both places and bring our children and mo'opuna with us.  Mahalo for your hospitality  Fred and Debbie Watson, Honolulu

"Couldn't have asked for more ~ Just Beautiful!!!" We stayed in the Hune cottage and couldn't have been more pleased. The setting in the rain forest was beautiful and felt so remote even though the town of Volcano was only minutes away and Volcano National Park just a couple of minutes further. The porch setting was a real surprise with its welcoming decor. Upon stepping inside the cottage, we knew the right choice had been made, everything was so clean and beautifully decorated and it had such a warm, cozy feel. Leslie, the owner, certainly has a talent for making her guests feel relaxed and at home. We felt so much respect and appreciation for the love and attention to detail the owners have put into their vacation rentals. When we return to the Big Island, we'll definitely want to stay at Menehune Mansions again. March 1st Eileen and Bob  Warren, MI

Feb 22 After a long travel day we were so pleased when we arrived at cozy Mahana.  Such a great location and equipped with everything we could have possibly needed.  Thank you so much for the incredible Guest Guide.  This was so helpful!  We hope to return.  Rebecca and Mark

Awesome place in the middle of a tropical Forest!  Perfect location for all of our activities- exploring Volcanoes National Park, hike to the lava flow, snorkeling in Puna, eating in Hilo, Rainbow Falls, Boiling Pots, etc.  We will definately remember our stay and recommend your Mansion to Friends & Family.

What a magical place they have created, I could not even have dreamed up this place... it is perfect here. I arrived at the cottage very frazzled and right away began letting go of the pressure. The care put into creating a real home in this amazing location is so appreciated, making for a special experience and memory. I love the menehunes in the cottage! It will be great to come back.
